Christian Formation opportunities for all ages will begin on September 13th, 2009 for the 2009-2010 school year.
The Bible study group meets in the guild room on Wednesdays after the 10:00 service. All adults are invited to join.
Adult Forum is offered on Sunday morning and provides an opportunity to explore a variety of topics. It consists of modules focusing on an assortment of scriptural, ethical, theological, and life issues. The forum runs about 45 minutes every Sunday morning, during the school year, and starts at 9:00 am. We also offer a Bible study. Recent topics have included the Gospel according to Luke, “Exploring the Creeds,” “The Jesus I Never Knew,” and “Religion as Entertainment”.
All ages gather for Christian
education and formation at 9 A.M. on Sunday mornings from September through May.
For children ages 3 - 8, we offer a curriculum entitled Godly Play. The program allows our children to discover the wonders of scripture, both Old and New Testaments. “Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language – parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action – helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.”
For our older children, ages 9
– 12, we offer the program My faith, My
life. This program invites young
people to ask questions of God and church. They
are also asked to consider where their ministry in the church is and what gifts
they individually have to share with the community.
For our teens, ages 13 and
older, we offer the program Rite 13, which is part of the J2A curriculum. This
program focuses on celebrating the individuality of each young person and their
creative potential.
In
April 2009, we will have a wonderful opportunity to participate in an all
parish retreat at the
