York Ecumenical Choral Society Concert at St. John's on Sunday December 27, 2009 at 4:00 pm
The York
Ecumenical Choral Society is presenting its annual Festival of Lessons and
Carols on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
The Choral Society was founded by Dr. Gene Paul Strayer twelve years ago
to promote fine choral works from the Protestant, Western Catholic and Eastern
Orthodox traditions.
The service is patterned after the Festival of Lessons and Carols started
by Kings College in England.
The Choral Society is directed by Rodney Barnett who is the Director of
Music of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, York.
The organist for the Festival will be Victor Fields, Dean of the York
Chapter American Guild of Organists.
The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist is located at 140 N. Beaver
St. in downtown York.
A parking lot is available across the street from the church.
There is no charge for admission; a freewill offering will be taken.
